Dispute centre

If something goes wrong, the money stays put

Opening a dispute freezes the payment in the escrow contract: it is neither released to the seller nor returned to you until the case is reviewed. Then a person reads both sides, looks at the evidence and decides a split that is executed on the blockchain.

Is this a case for a dispute?

A dispute is the last tool, not the first. Many things get sorted sooner and faster by writing to the seller.

Open one if…

  • You paid and the file was never made available
  • What you downloaded is not what the listing advertised
  • The project does not start and the seller does not reply
  • Pieces described under “what’s included” are missing
  • You suspect the content is not the seller’s

Remember: you can only open one within 24 hours of the payment, while the money is still in escrow.

No need if…

  • It is an install question: write to the seller first
  • You want a feature the listing never promised
  • You picked the wrong template and have not downloaded it yet
  • It is a small bug the seller can fix
  • You no longer want the template you bought

For everything in this column, writing to the seller usually sorts it the same day.

The process, step by step

Four stages. You only take part in the first two.

1

You open the dispute

From My purchases you pick the purchase and explain what happened. At that moment the payment freezes in the contract.

2

You add evidence

Screenshots, messages, error logs. The seller can add theirs too. Nothing uploaded is deleted or edited afterwards.

3

We review the case

Someone on the team reads both sides and proposes a concrete split of the escrowed money, with the reason in writing.

4

It executes on the blockchain

The resolution is signed and executed in the contract. A public transaction remains that you can check yourself.

The deadlines that matter

There is only one that is critical: a dispute is opened while the money is still in escrow, that is, before the 24 hours deadline from your payment. After that point the contract releases to the seller by itself and there is nothing left to freeze.

1

You pay

The money enters escrow and the countdown starts.

2

You have 24 hours

Download, test and decide. That is your window to open a dispute.

3

It is released

With no dispute, the contract pays the seller automatically.

Tip: download and test the same day you buy. That is the only thing you need to do to keep your margin.

The three possible outcomes

There are no others. All three split the same money that was already in escrow, and all three are written on the blockchain.

You get everything back

If the purchase was of no use to you at all, the full amount returns to your balance and from there you withdraw it to your wallet whenever you want.

It gets split

If part of what was promised was delivered, the resolution can refund you a portion and release the rest to the seller. The exact split is written into the decision.

It is released to the seller

If the evidence favours the seller, the payment carries on as normal. The dispute is recorded all the same, with its reason.

How to prepare your case

A dispute is settled with what can be checked, not with who insists more. The more specific you are, the faster and better it goes.

  • Say what you expected and what you got, one sentence each
  • Attach screenshots of the error or of what is missing
  • Include the messages you already exchanged with the seller
  • Point to the part of the listing that was not met
  • If the project does not start, paste the full error log

Large purchases: double review from 500 USDC

The more money at stake, the less sense it makes for one person to decide. In disputes of 500 USDC or more, the resolution needs TWO different admins to approve exactly the same split before it can be executed. If one proposes one thing and the other something else, neither runs: they have to agree on the specific figure.

  • Two different approvals, not one signed twice
  • Both on the exact same split, down to the cent
  • Each approval is recorded with its author and reason
  • Meanwhile, the money stays frozen in the contract

Frequently asked questions

Can I open a dispute after the payment is released?

No. A dispute freezes money that is still in escrow, so it has to be opened within the 24 hours deadline. If it was already released, write to support: we will not be able to freeze anything, but we can review the seller.

Does the seller see what I write?

Yes. A dispute has two sides and both can see the case and add evidence. That is what makes the decision fair rather than one-sided.

Can I close the dispute if we work it out?

Yes. If you reach an agreement, the dispute is withdrawn and the purchase goes back to its normal course, with whatever release time was left.

How long does a resolution take?

It depends on the case and how complete the evidence is. A clear case with screenshots is settled much sooner than one where we have to ask both sides for information.

Does opening a dispute penalise me?

No. Opening a dispute with good reason is using the platform as intended. What we do look at is the pattern: systematically opening baseless disputes is grounds for reviewing the account.

What if the seller disappears midway?

It does not block anything. The case is settled with whatever evidence there is, and the seller’s lack of reply is taken into account when deciding.

Got a problem with a purchase?

Go to My purchases, pick the affected purchase and tell us what happened. The money freezes at that very moment.
