The dispute window and automatic release

Your money waits in escrow for a fixed period; if all is well, it's released to the seller on its own.

How the window works

When you pay, your USDC sits in the escrow contract with a set release date (24 hours after payment; the current period is always shown on the template page when buying and in Protected payments). During that window you can download, test and — if something is wrong — open a dispute.

  • If you do nothing, when the window expires the payment is released automatically to the seller. That's the normal outcome when everything went well.
  • If you open a dispute, the release is frozen until the verdict, even if the window expires.
  • In My purchases the live countdown tells you exactly how much time you have left.

Download and test your template the same day you buy it. The window can't be paused or extended: the only way to stop the release is to open the dispute in time.
