Account and wallet

You can sign in two ways: with your email (we send you a 6 digit code) or with Google or GitHub. If the email is the same, you always land in the same account.

• Your real name is read only; your @handle is not, up to 3 changes every 30 days.
• Your language and theme are stored in your account and follow you on any device.
• A session lives in the browser you signed in from and expires on its own after 30 days.

The second factor is a TOTP code from an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password or any standard one). You turn it on in Security or in your profile.

1. 1Press Enable 2FA and scan the QR code with your app.
2. 2Type the 6 digit code and confirm.
3. 3Save the 8 backup codes shown only once: they are your way in if you lose the authenticator.

Your account comes with a wallet of your own, tied to it, living on the Polygon network and running on USDC. The money is yours and it sits on chain: Bernuvia does not hold it, it only gives you the window to use it.

• Same account, same wallet: sign in from another browser or device and you get the same address and the same balance back.
• There is no seed phrase to write down and no private key to lose.
• USDC is the currency of every purchase: Circle's token on Polygon, with a public contract.
• Polygon because a transfer costs cents; the gas for your withdrawals is paid by Bernuvia.

In My wallet, press Deposit. There are three routes, depending on where the money comes from:

1. 1Transfer USDC, if you already hold USDC on Polygon: copy your deposit address and send from your other wallet or your exchange.
2. 2Use crypto, if you hold another coin or another network: you pay with what you have and the bridge delivers USDC on Polygon into your wallet, at a conversion cost of around 0.3%.
3. 3Use cash: you buy USDC with a card through the payment provider and it lands straight in your wallet.

2. 2Type the destination address (0x, Polygon network) and the amount.
3. 3Check the summary: you will see Network cost (gas): 0.00, because Bernuvia pays the gas.
4. 4Confirm with the 6 digit code we send to the email on your account.

• The minimum withdrawal is 0.01 USDC.
• Bernuvia charges no fee to withdraw.
• If you are a seller, the withdrawal releases your matured earnings first: for you it is still a single button.

Some things Bernuvia does not need in order to work, so it never asks you for them. If someone asks for them in our name, it is a scam.

• Your seed phrase or the private key of any wallet, this one included.
• Your 2FA code or your backup codes, not by email, not by chat, not by phone.
• Your exchange keys or your Google or GitHub password.
• Your card details: buying USDC with a card is done by the payment provider, not by us.
