Your wallet: creation and recovery
Your wallet is born from your email in a minute: same email, same wallet, always.
Activating it
- 1Go to My wallet (or start any purchase or deposit): if you don't have a wallet yet you'll see «Activate your wallet — your wallet is created from your email in a minute».
- 2Press Connect (or Activate my wallet): we send a 6-digit code to your email. It's a Bernuvia code, lasts 10 minutes and you can resend it after 30 seconds.
- 3Type it in and confirm. Your wallet is now active in that browser and linked to your account.
If you signed in with Google or GitHub, the wallet is created on its own in the background after login, without asking for a code.
Same email, same wallet
Your wallet is derived from your email: there's no seed phrase to store and no private key to lose. If you switch browsers or devices, reconnecting with the same email recovers exactly the same wallet and the same balance.
For this very reason your account email can't be changed: changing it would change the wallet. More detail in Can I change my email?
